Coaching

One of the many benefits of joining ERC is organised club coaching. For all members, we can offer a mentoring scheme where you can be guided through setting up your bike so that it fits you properly, how to prepare yourself for training and racing using a structured programme, what and when to eat and drink. We can advise on appropriate races to enter and how to go about this. As well as a variety of training runs throughout the week, we arrange coached sessions to develop specific skills usually in traffic free or quiet locations such as Ingliston Royal Highland Showground where we also hold our criterium race series on a traffic free circuit.

Our team of swimming coaches tutors a large and enthusiastic group of triathletes twice a week for an hour each time. We take over three lanes of the Commonwealth Pool with one lane devoted to stroke development for novices.

Off-road, we also have structured training and practice sessions for developing technical skills as well as regular weekly rides. Our active off-road section can also help with advice on how to prepare for and enter races.

We also offer one to one coaching for really dedicated cyclists who want to improve further. This requires a full commitment from the rider as spaces are limited but we still welcome enquiries for this service from novices. Also on offer is the Joe Friel training package which uses highly developed software to guide athletes towards their objective.

The club offers cycle performance testing of athletes on a dedicated test rig.

Details of all club coaching sessions, talks, rides, swims and all weekly rides can be found in the What's on? page. To apply for one to one coaching, please contact the coaching convenor.
