Eastern Promise Road Race

A race over a challenging circuit based on Howgate, Leadburn and Gladhouse, south east of Edinburgh. This race includes the prize of the magical "Eastern Promise Lamp" for the highest placed Edinburgh RC member.

 

Eastern Promise Road Race

Sunday 26th August 2018 (11am)

Edinburgh RC, supported by the East and Central Region of Scottish Cycling, presents the Eastern Promise Road Race on the Gladhouse circuit. The event is a Regional A race of 90km (56 miles) for category 2, 3 and 4 riders.  The race is neutralised from the HQ at Eddleston village Hall to the starting line on the main circuit.  It then completes four laps of the undulating Gladhouse circuit to finish at top of the main climb from the A703 (Edinburgh-Peebles road). 

The map below gives details of the course. The race starts at 11.00am and will finish about 2 hours later.  Enter on-line via the British Cycling system.  The entry fees start from £17 (tbc) online or £25 (tbc) on the day. 

The race will run under the rules of Scottish Cycling. 

Sign-on will be open between 9:30 and 10.30am. Competitors must hand in their licenses, which will be returned in exchange for their race numbers after the finish. Riders are expected to provide a spare wheel to be carried in the service car and this may be used by any competitor.

Odd numbers front wheel, even numbers rear wheel.

Strip : Eddleston Village Hall, Edinburgh Road,  Eddleston EH45 8PW. Open from 9:00am. Please do not park in the residents car parking areas. The village hall car park is reserved for race vehicles.

Refreshments will be available after the race.
