Eastern Promise Road Race

A race over a challenging circuit based on Howgate, Leadburn and Gladhouse, south east of Edinburgh. This race includes the prize of the magical "Eastern Promise Lamp" for the highest placed Edinburgh RC member.

 

Eastern Promise Road Race

Saturday 20th August 2016 (11am)

Edinburgh RC, supported by the East of Scotland Cycling Association and Scottish Cycling presents the Eastern Promise Road Race on  the Gladhouse circuit. The race is Regional A category for cats 2/3/4. The race HQ is at Eddleston village Hall and the race then runs four times around the undulating Gladhouse Circuit before its finish at top of the main climb. The total distance to be raced is 56 miles/90km.

The map below gives details of the course. The race starts at 11.00am and will finish about 2 hours later. Cost to enter is £17  online via British Cycling or £25 on the day. 

The race HQ and sign-on will be open from 9:30am. At sign-on, competitors must present their licenses, which will be returned in exchange for their race numbers after the finish. Sign-on closes at 10:30am. The race will run under the rules of Scottish Cycling. Drinks (tea/coffee/juice) and food will be available after the race.

A service car will be provided so bring spare wheels if you can and we will load into service vehicle.

Odd numbers front wheel, even numbers rear wheel.
