Whether you are an experienced racer or a novice looking for an introduction to competitive cycling, Edinburgh RC has something to offer you:

Track racing

Track Racing encompasses many different disciplines and offers something for everyone.

There is a weekly track league at Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh on Tuesday nights, from April to September. The informal and safe environment of the track league makes it an ideal place for your introduction to racing, with enthusiastic volunteers always ready to help newcomers.

ERC is one of the best represented clubs at track league and championship events, reflected by the Scottish championship medals won by our club members.

Track racing requires a special type of bike, but the East of Scotland Cycling Association has a number of bikes available for hire via our Club Track Coordinator. The Club also have a selection of track chainrings and sprockets, aerobars and various disc and aero wheels for hire (ERC Equipment Inventory).

Monday		Available for open training.
Tuesday	19:15 to 21:00	Meadowbank National Track League.
Wednesday		Available for open training.
Thursday		Fast kids and girls running in an open training session + Adult Track School
Friday	16:30 to 19:00	ERC Juniors closed coached session.
	19:00 to 21:00	Coached Racing. Attendance by approval of Senior Coach.
Saturday		Available for open training.
Sunday		Available for open training.

 

Track Accreditation Programme

As of 2010 all riders wishing to use the Track in open training sessions must be formally accredited to do so.

The aim of the Accreditation Programme is to ensure that riders have had sufficient instruction, training, and observed performance in structured sessions to ensure that they are “track safe” before being allowed to use the track out with coach led sessions or competition.
