Triathlon and Duathlon

The ERC Tri Squad is Edinburgh RC's multi-sport sub-section, whose aim is to promote the sport of triathlon to all ages and abilities through a supportive and inclusive atmosphere. Whether you're a total beginner or racing competitively, we have lots to offer:

Training

New Year's Day Triathlon 2010 Edinburgh RC has several qualified triathlon coaches, and runs regular training sessions, including three swimming sessions every week. In addition, twice a year we organize popular triathlon-specific training week-ends, and in the summer we hold Open Water Swimming sessions in Portobello. Check the What's on? page for the latest times and locations, and for an overlook of club training and activities read the 2010 ERC Tri-Squad Information Newsletter.

Racing

Musselburgh to Portobello swim 2009Racing can be fun and rewarding, as well as a great way to make sure you keep attending those training sessions! We encourage members of all abilities to take part in races and ERC regularly fields a large team entry in triathlons and duathlons across Scotland. Our members compete at all levels of competition, from local events to international and World Championship level. Each year ERC Tri-Squad has a club handicap championship where you accumulate points by racing and improving on your own previous results. Check out the handicap championship rules and list of target races for 2010 for all the details.

Events

Portobello Aquathon 2009ERC club members organise various multi-sport events, including the popular Winter Duathlon series.  New this year, ERC and Edinburgh Racing have taken over organization of the New Year's Day Triathlon. Details of current club triathlon activities are posted on the What's on? page, and social activities are organized through the erctrisquad Yahoo! group and mailing list.
