Meadowbank Velodrome, Mid Summer Track Accreditation sessions.

There will be three more track accreditation sessions running on Thursdays from 6.45 to 9pm on the 1st of July, 8th July, and 15th of July at  Meadowbank Velodrome   ( Weather permitting )

There will be a "follow on sessions" on these dates for any one who has done the ERC or BICCC try the track days this season ( last years don't count ) as well as for any one who would like a bit more practice.

Please let us know if you are coming along and bring a double sided copy of Accreditation log sheet for completion if you want to go through the process.

It would also be helpful to know how much track cycling you have done and what specification your bike is if you are new to Meadowbank Velodrome.

If you are coming for accreditation session one ( That is if you have not done one before) then you will be a priority for being booked in for an ESCA bike loan for the evening.

For more information look at the documents here:

https://sites.google.com/site/velodromeaccreditation/home/match-logistics

and the page here :

https://sites.google.com/site/velodromeaccreditation/home/match-logistics/novice-rider-coming-for-a-taster-or-accreditation-session-look-here

You can express interest by adding to this thread or by email to :

meadowbankaccreditation@googlemail.com

Each Session has 16 places which will be allocated on a first come / most deserving case / do we like you basis.

Regards Allister .

Looks like we will have to roll over this evenings riders but with three ESCA track coaches we may have a go for a 32 rider super session on the 8th !

Your names are on the list.

Afternoon folks,

I would like to point out that I am not a professional weather forecaster,

 BUT

from where I am in Central Edinburgh and looking at 4 weather sites and the rainfall radar I would say that we have a better than even chance of having a rain free evening at the velodrome tonight.

So I will be there with all the kit ready to go at 6.30pm.

If it does rain there is no charge and  you get rolled over in to the next session .

As ever I cannot be held responsible for changes in the weather, you are responsible for deciding whether on not to come along .

Morning  folks,

I would like to point out that I am not a professional weather forecaster,

BUT

from where I am in Central Edinburgh and looking at 4 weather sites and the rainfall radar I would say that we have NO chance of having a dry evening at the velodrome tonight.

It looks like it is going to be continuous rain with especially heavy spells at 4pm through to 7pm with 100% cloud cover and 97% humidity at a max of 12C

This means that even if it's not raining at times the boards won't dry enough to get on.

So I think the best thing is to postpone the session until the 5th of August when all the coaches are back from hols and we will have blistering sunshine prior to the British Omnium Track Championships and Festival meeting on the week end of the 7th and 8th  of August.

The names on the list will just get rolled over in to the next session unless folk want to change .

Roll on the indoor velodrome !
