Is this half-mile short going to be there for the whole season?

Yes - and possibly into next season too.  There are major roadworks at the edge of Kirkliston which means that temporary lights will be coming and going until a new flyover is built.

The upside is that everyone has a chance to improve their PB.

Great turn out last night for the first one of the year - and we even got some sunshine - long may it continue.

Big thanks to the marshals and timekeepers and extra thanks to Dougal (and anyone else who helped) for all the added work required to scope out the revised route.

Cheers,
Alex.

hi

good to see the club TT back again for another season

As some of you know already, I stay in the suburb of Kirkliston. I did wonder about running the event with the temporary lights in place just under the flyover which have been there for ages, but last night I noticed they had removed the lights so technically you have your full (usual) 10m course available as long as no other lights get put up.

I will keep an eye on the course and keep you posted on the forum if I see any roadworks being started which will affect things so hopefully you will have as many 10's available with the odd short course if they decide to do put up lights

I wonder if it would be good PR for the contractor building the new road to let us run a TT on it shortly before it opens? 10 miles of brand new flat road running from Kirkie to South Queensferry...
Anyway if its not 10 miles we should move the course to somewhere which is. What about the Musselbury 10?

Good to see a large turnout at the first Kirky of the season. It would be good to see some more of you supporting the ESCA 10 champs next Wednesday on the Stobo course. There are only 23 entered so far and its easy via Entry Central (link under Time Trial section of ERC forum.

had to commute to Livingston last week with work, ended up going via Kirky, boy that road is a muddy mess. You should be doing the 10TT on cross bikes! Real shame as they wash it often, just makes it muddier!
