BLACK PUDDING CHALLENGE
« on: May 14, 2012, 09:20:28 AM »
The fast 940 Black Pudding Challenge will be held here:

http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/79820/Kirky-10-Club-Confined-TT-Series-16

Wed, 15th Aug 2012

The prize:

This event is open to all regular riders in the fast 940 - except Bruce.

Ive got the pointy hat and tri-bars but maybe "old school" style would be fairer.

I'm in.  Though lets get all participants to chip in a couple of quid for the prize and then go for a couple of beers afterwards - there's not enough drinking after cycling events

Can you clarify whether it is the single 1.3kg gift box or brace 2 x 1.3kg gift box that is on offer as a prize for this competition, please? Not sure if it is worth getting out of bed for one black pudding.

I think if Wiggins wins the TDF all of us cyclists in the UK have to up our game, so two if he wins, but only one if not.

George I thought you where a 9,30 rider after your toys left the pram over change in starting point......?
Do we not need a definition of what a 9,40 rider is?
Lots of  people float between the 2 at various times of the year. Does that make them 9.40 rider or a 9.30 rider?
All this fancy pointy hats and handle bars rubbish needs banned..... With average waist size of 42 inchers there is no way most of the 9.40 bunch would get there elbows anywhere near the bars for an aero position.Or is that just me?

Ill have my money on King Eric.

Regular fast 940 riders. We know who we are. No ringers allowed. I think youre right about the hat & bars, and that flat water-bottle nonsense is bang out of order. BTW - the 930 isnt hard enough.

Cloisters, now you're talking. A pint (or two) of Stewarts will do nicely. :D

BUMP (up the jam). You'd think they would have taken off the wee price sticker on the pud before they took the photo.

There will be two puddings, but one will be vegetarian. Also there will be points for the worst rider, and also the most stylish. What do points mean?
PRIZES.
I must reiterate that anyone who is any good is banned from this prestigious event.

The organisers of this prestigious event have a strict no paperwork policy

Please indicate your intention to compete by posting here.

Remember, its a presentation case of black puddings you are racing for.  Not points or money.  This must be a motivation to start to get in shape and put in some training.

Pudding presentation and post race beer in the Ventoux, Brougham Street afterwards.

After a far-reaching and wide-ranging opinion gathering exercise, with Warren, its has been agreed to charge a fiver for entry. Thatll cover the PRIZES, and also maybe a beer or nuts or something.

The Winner O'the Pudding race will be aptly named "The Chieftan" for the next 12 months?
