Congratulations Alex on winning the Tour of Thailand.  See Alex on the Podium with the Princes Maha Charkri Sirintorn Trophy.

After the 5th stage of the Tour of Thailand ERC member Alex Coutts (Giant Asia RT) maintained a hold on the yellow jersey and a lead of 46 seconds.  See full results of Stage 5 

The second stage was won by Alex's team mate Stefan Loeffler and Alex finished 3rd which placed him 37 second up on GC. He then extended his lead by 9 seconds on Stage 4 and had his team mate Erik Hoffmann in 2nd place. 3rd is German Bjoern Papstein (Kuota Senges) at 48 seconds.

The final stage was 8 laps of a 18.5km circuit.  Check out the last stage profile.

Alex is currently racing the Tour de Taiwan and is in GC contention again.  Currently in 13th place, 34 seconds down on the leader.  Results here. 

February 17th, 2008 

ERC Member Alex Coutts finished 17th on the General Classification in the Tour de Langkawi.  Not bad for being back on the bike for just 6 weeks.  Edinburgh RC wish Alex good luck for the rest of the season and look forward to following his progress in 2008.  Final Results

February 12th, 2008 

After the 4th Stage Alex remains just 13 seconds down on the General Classification in 16th place.  He will no doubt be looking forward to the hillier stages later in the week.  4th stage report 

February 9th, 2008

Riding for his new team Giant Asia RT, Alex was the only rider of his team to make the select break of 19 riders in the first stage of the Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia. 

These 19 riders gained over 20 minutes on the peleton and will now battle it out for the General Classification.
