ERC is keen to increase the number, range and quality of coaches within the club who are available and committed to coaching club members. Read more about the club policy on supporting members wishing to achieve or upgrade coaching qualifications.
Eligibility: To be eligible for assistance he/she must normally have been a first-claim member of ERC for at least 1 year. Members will be required to complete an application form which inter alia will include a statement of their commitment to coaching within ERC.
Courses/qualifications recognised: ERC will provide assistance towards the gaining of coaching qualifications offered by British Cycling, British Triathlon , Mountain Bike Leaders Association, Association of British Cycling Coaches, Cyclists Touring Club, SASA, at all levels from level 1 to level 3.
Other sources of assistance: members will be expected to show evidence of application for assistance from Coaching Edinburgh, ESCA, and the relevant governing body when appropriate.
Level of assistance: The club will normally pay the balance of the costs of course fees (in arrears). Costs of travel, subsistence and accommodation are not normally paid and will only be met if reasonable and within the coaching budget provision.
Method of reimbursement: Payment will be made as follows -50% after the course has been completed and 50% on qualification. Funded ERC coaches are expected to provide coaching input on a voluntary (ie unpaid) basis unless otherwise agreed by the ERC committee
