Windy 2 days... Silas Goldsworthy won the prolouge, with his other 2 sandy Wallace teammates taking 2nd and 3rd. I came 20th, 55 seconds down. Managed to make a solo attack stick at the start of the last lap of the afternoons stage, and couldn't quite believe I crossed the line almost 1.20 ahead of the bunch to win the stage. John did a great job disrupting the chase as far as he could. So that gave me the leaders yellow jersey today and made me a marked man. Really windy on today's stage... after john had chased what he could and I did likewise until eventually the inevitable happened and a group got away.. unfortunately with the 2nd & 3rd place guys on gc in it. I sat on the front for almost the whole rest of the stage, trying to limit my losses, with only some sporadic help from others...(a big thanks to Craig McCullough from veloecosse who used his big engine to help share some work into the headwind on the last lap) Kept them within sight and finished with the bunch, but it wasnt quite enough, so Alan Thompson from sandy Wallace moved into first place to take the overall by 25s including the time bonus, but I held onto 2nd over all and got 2nd in the points competition, so not so bad. Thanks to john and Andy for doing what they could!
