Anna Flynn takes gold at the Scottish Cyclocross Champs!
1 December 2019
Anna tops the podium.
On a cold a frosty Sunday, Anna Flynn took first place at the Scottish Cyclocross championships up in Deeside. Here is her race report:
On Sunday I travelled up to Knockburn Loch for the 2019 Scottish CX championships. After a couple of weeks just training at home, I was really excited to have a good, hard race. The cold weather on the day meant that the course was very icy and slippy which made it a lot more technical which suited me well. I got a good start and after the first lap, I was in a group with Isla Short, Eileen Rowe and Kerry Macphee. I was feeling pretty comfortable and I was able to make little gaps on the technical sections so I tried to go into these sections in the lead and use this to my advantage. With 2 laps to go, I made an attack before going into the technical woods section. I pulled out a small gap so kept pushing and managed to extend my advantage until the end. It was a really close and tactical race so I am really pleased that I managed to win the whole race and come 1st junior as well.
