Youth Race Team

Edinburgh RC Goodson Race Team is Scotland’s premier youth race team for youth A&B cyclists (12-16 years old) competing across road, track, cyclo-cross and mountain-bike events. The team is run by volunteers aiming to develop Scottish riders who cut their teeth in Scottish racing to become competitive in British National and International competition. As a team, we do celebrate results but we also love it when riders simply dig in and demonstrate their development.

We recognise that U12 riders who have enjoyed racing need the support of parents, professional coaches and peers to help them continue their progress. Our riders typically join from the ERC’s very successful Go-Ride program but also from other Scottish clubs.

As well as boys, we have developed the talents of a strong group of girls. Our volunteers, together with Deeside Thistle, were instrumental in winning Scottish Cycling's 2021 innovation award for the Like a Lassie programme which supports youth female cyclists in Scotland.
