For the 2011&12 seasons Stuart rode for the ERC youth race team. He was one of the strongest riders in Scotland and moved to ERC from Peebles CC to join a strong squad of local riders under the management of Brynley Davies. In his final year with ERC he was selected for the British Olympic Talent Team. Although he did not make the cut for the Olympic Development Programme as he had hoped but that did not dampen his ambition. He progressed through other clubs including Ronde CC and Spokes CC, and is currently registered with Cotes D'Armor Cyclisme. Stuart has been based in France for several seasons and has received support from the Dave Raynor Fund. This year represented Team GB in the Tour de l'Avenir.
