This Sunday, 8th September, sees the Inter-Regional Youth Circuit Championships take place. This is a one day, 2 race affair which consists of a Team Time Trial followed by a circuit race at the Castle Combe Race Circuit in Chippenham, Wiltshire. http://ow.ly/RVmb50vZ4M6.

Three riders from the Goodson Youth Race Team will be in Scotland's two 4-member youth (U16) teams. Kirsty Johnson was selected for the girls' team, while the boys' team will contain Ross Birrell and Alex Gibb.

The team coaches for the weekend are Steven Moore of Stirling BC and ERC youth team coach Archie Johnstone, both of whom play major roles in developing Scottish talent at venues across Scotland. Thanks to them for making the 760+ mile round-trip to support our athletes.

You can follow the event from the BC South Facebook page here on Sunday.

Good shooting for ERC getting so many riders selected. We suspect that their selection was based on a lot of hard work by the riders, team managers and their parents.

This will be the penultimate significant youth road event for Ross and Alex as they step up to Junior (U18) racing next year. There final event will be a National Series race at Brands Hatch on the 14th Sept. Kirsty, as a current first year, will have another opportunity. However, it is her first race since becoming Scottish YA girls circuit race champion. We wish them and the Scottish teams all the best for Sunday.

Next year the Inter Regional Road Championships will be included as part of the 2 day School Games as they were in 2018. Something for our upcoming riders to look forward to!
