Development Ride

Location: Royal Commonwealth Pool
Date: Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 9:35am - 12:30pm
Duration   2h 55m

The development ride is ERC's ride for new road cyclist or those not confident riding in a group, with a designated run leader.

People wanting to join will need to sign up ahead of time. To do this click here, and choose the "Try a club ride" registration. Then look for the ride you want to join in the Classes section and sign up.

If you have just joined the club or are thinking of joining then the Development Ride is for you. It will be led by an experienced run leader who will introduce you to the techniques of group riding often including a “through and off” chaingang. Even if you have some experience, you are encouraged to join this group to meet new members and to learn local calls and signals. Afterwards, we meet up for coffee with riders from other groups.

While the Development Ride is not for complete novices, no-one will be left behind. The route will vary and the typical pace will be between 14mph and 16mph for between 2.5 and 3 hours. Please read our FAQ for more details on what to expect.

If the weather forecast looks particularly bad (risk of snow, ice or high winds) then the ride may not take place
